You can easily test this effect by using a 50 mL conical tube as well as a narrow 15 mL conical tube on a vortex machine. The 50 mL conical tube will immediately show a vortex stream within the liquid whereas the 15 mL conical tube needs far more attention to create this swirl within the tube.
You can imagine that a 5 mm diameter vessel like within a 96 well DWP is even more challenging.
A dedicated mix control enables orbital circular paths with a diameter of 3 mm and up to 3,000 rpm. This micro-processor controlled movement generates excellent mixing performance for small volume samples, even for challenging samples.
